INSTRUCTIONS

for the TOK documentary film assignment 

 

I. In groups of 5-7 students (from the same TOK class), you will: 

 

A.  Check which documentaries have already been reserved by clicking here

B.  Choose one of the films still available from the TOK documentary list below

C.  Decide as a group on a time and place to show the film

D.  Make sure there is no important College event on that date by checking the Pearson College Calendar

E.   Make sure that another film is not being shared on the same date by checking the TOK Doc Calendar

F.    Email Raphael the following information:

1.   the name of the film you would like to share

2.   the time and place you would like to share it

3.   the names of the people in your group

G.  Wait for approval, which will be sent to you by email

H.  Once your film sharing is approved, advertise the film by emailing your class and putting postings up on the message board and other places. (Please include the TOK documentaries logo in your posting so that other TOK students will know that it’s an official sharing.)

I.     Show the movie at the agreed time and place and lead a discussion using the suggested questions as a guide

J.     Also using the suggested questions as a guide write a 250 word reflection on knowledge issues related to the film

K.  Return the reflection to your TOK teacher within a week of seeing the film

 

PLEASE NOTE: YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO PREVIEW THE DOCUMENTARY THAT YOU ARE SHARING

 

II. You are also expected to attend one documentary that you are not presenting and take part in the discussion that follows it. Please speak to your TOK teacher before or after class to tell them that you have done so.
